I need help understanding domain and range, I don't know what I am trying to solve when asked to find the domain and range of an equation. Other terms that are used are function, input and output values. I need help understanding all of these terms please. Some example equations from the lesson are F(x)= 2x+3 and h(y)=3/4-y. Is anyone able to walk me through these problems step by step as the lesson does not do so. Thanks.

Domain ==> Function or Relation ==> Range

That's it.

Domain - Stuff that goes in.
Range - Stuff that comes out.

Generally, start with "All Real Numbers: and see if you can eliminate anything.

f(x) = 3x+2 -- No elimination. All real numbers for both Domain and Range

g(x) = 1/(x-4) -- x = 4 won't do for the Domain. Why? g(x) = 0 won't do for the Range. Why?

Thank You!!!!

Your explanation was very simple and helpful, much appreciated, thank you very much.
