I'm stuck on this maths question and would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out. My strategy as of now is to work out the moment of force exerted onto the cross pieces and equate that to the moment on the string, and then obtain the force of tension. I'm struggling to realise this though. So first I'm trying to work out the free body diagrams for this system. Is it as I've attached? How do I draw the tension vector? And then I'm having a hard time defining and decomposing the force vectors in terms of theta, mg etc. Can anyone lend a hand?
