Hi All
New to this site, and I'm attempting to brush up on my Maths skills (I left school 33 years ago).
To the question:
David and 3 friends are going ice skating. They hire 4 pairs of ice skates for 3 hours.
The formula below is for working out the cost of hiring the stakes including a deposit.
C=s(3h+5)
C = total cost
s = number of pairs of ice skates
h = number of hours
How much will it cost to hire 4 pairs of ice skates?
I answered £32 but the answer is £56
Can somebody please explain how this is?
Many thanks
