ok how do you find the range of this function
g(x)=5+ square root of(4-x)

i know how to find the range of functions my teacher didn't teach us that and the example in the book is not very good... could someone solve it and show all the steps ... thanks for your time

Graphing is a great way to see what is going on.
If f(x)=5+√(4−x) its domain is (−∞,4].
Note that 0≤√(4−x)<∞: thus, 5≤f(x)<∞.
So what is the range?

For a function as straight-forward as this, looking at the graph to see what y-values it takes on is probably the simplest way to proceed.

As mentioned previously, the range is the y-values.
