Can anyone throw some light to this for me...

fx) = x-3/2x
Solve for f(x+1) - f(2x) = 0.5

Hello and welcome to FMH! :)

I've moved and re-titled the thread since this problem has nothing to do with calculus/differential equations. Which of the following is correct?

[MATH]f(x)=\frac{x-3}{2x}[/MATH]
[MATH]f(x)=x-\frac{3}{2x}[/MATH]
[MATH]f(x)=x-\frac{3}{2}x[/MATH]

1st you need to tell us which of the functions MarkFL stated is correct. Then replace x with (x+1), then replace x with (2x), then subtract, then set this result equal to 0.5 and finally solve for x.
