Hi! I’m struggling with a problem. “Find the coordinates for S of parallelogram CATS. C(4, -1), A(-4, 1), and T(0,8). I plotted it already, but I’m not sure of the steps to find S.

assume S is at (x,y).

Calculate the eqns. of the lines CA, AT, TS and SC.

If you have learned anything about vectors, you can do this easily by adding vectors.

If not, and you know about slope, you can still do the same thing. Segment AS must be parallel to TAC, and have the same length. So make a segment with that same slope, and then check the length; or do the same thing to make segment TS.
