I am doing my homework and there are a few questions that dont make sense... BLEH! I have 3 equations... M=Y2-Y1/X2-X1, <===SLOPE, D=square root of (X2-X1)2ed + (Y2-Y1)2ed, <===DISTANCE, and M(X1+X2/2, Y1+Y2/2), <===MIDPOINT.

#16. Find the length oF the given segments and determine if they are congruent. Line DE, line FG. Which equations do I use to complete this problem?

#22. Use the distance formula to order line AB, line CD, and line EF from shortest to longest. I know, it tells me the formula but I just don't under stand how to do it.

#26. Find the distance along Highway 201 from Cedar City to Milltown. It has a graph and it has two lines with 3 points...
Point 1... Cedar City (2,3)
Point 2... Jefferson Highway 201 (-2,-2)
Point 3... Milltown (3,-3)

Any help is good help:)

Please remember your Order of Operations. a - b / c - d is NOT the same as (a-b)/(c-d). This makes quite a difference in your Slope formula.

#16 - You'll need a length. The distance formula would be good.

#22 - It tells you to use the Distance Formula

#26 - How far from C to J - then how far from J to M? -- More distance formula.

Let's see what you get.

The slope of a linemeans the steepness or incline of the line. The higher the slope valuethe more is the steeper incline.The slope of a line including the xaxis and y axis is represented by m and is defined as the change in they coordinate divided by the corresponding change in the x coordinate, between two distinct points on the line.
the slope formula hence is Slope (m) = [ (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)]
