what is the distance between points (4,14) and (10,6)
what is the distance between points (10,6) and (16,14)
what si the distance between points (16,14) and (4,14)

Just use the distance formula based on the Pythagorean theorem.

\(\displaystyle D=\sqrt{(x-x_{1})^{2}+(y-y_{1})^{2}}\)

Here is the first one \(\displaystyle x=10, \;\ x_{1}=4, \;\ y=6, \;\ y_{1}=4\)

Plug and chug.

the third one is not too much work, it,s 16-4 = 12 as the y co-ordinates are the same.
The other two are 8 divided by Sin{inverse tan of (8/6)} and 8 divided by Sin{inverse tan of (8/4)}

They go straight into the calculator!
