Getting roots from polynomials or minimum and maximum points for a trig function. Has anyone seen this question, what textbook?

Here's what I've managed to work out - I did a by putting it in my graphing calculator

b)
1/sinx + sin2x/cos2x
= 1/sinx + 2sinxcosx/cos^2x-sin^2x
= (cos^2x-sin^2x + 2sin^2xcosx) / sinx(cos^2x-sin^2x)
