I'm really stuck on my homework right now, and I can't figure out how to graph y> or equal to x-3 and y>or equal to -x+1 with all the shading and stuff. I looked in the back of the book for the answer, but I didn't understand how they got it.
Thank you!

\(\displaystyle \L y\,\,>=\,\,x-3\,\,\,\,\,and\,\,\,\,\,y\,\,>=\,\,-x+1\)

You want to shade the region /above/ the first equation but the shading cannot go below the -x+1 line....so you will be shading an area in the shape of a V.

Hope this helps.

itll look something like this

Hey ilaggoodly, what CAS are you using for that graph? Is that Mathematica or Maple 11?
