This question blew me off and I really got confused..

Leticia Worked 40 hours straight time and 20 hours overtime at an hourly rate of $10.50. Of the 20 hours overtime, 8 hours were at double time.
Compute the following:

Straight-time earnings= I got this one right I think which is $484.00 I got that answer by 40*$10.50= $484.00
Overtime earnings= ???
Gross Earnings= ???

Have you posted the problem fully?

Generally, any overtime is paid more than the regular hour. Here it seems (according to your post) 12 hours of overtime is paid same as regular time.

Assuming your post is correct:

Overtime earnings = 12 * 10.50 + 8*(2*10.50) = ????

Gross Earnings = Straight-time earnings + Overtime earnings = ???

Oops I put that wrong. I was looking at two of my word problems and put it wrong.
