I am having a really hard time with logarithms. I am in tears because I am just not getting it. I went back to school after 20 years absence and don't remember what part is an exponent let alone how to do logs. it's all very hard and I am just trying to get the base going so I can understand in class better.

P.S. My rule of thumb -- either thumb -- Every time you call youself "stupid", you get one more problem wrong that you should have gotten right. So, quit it with the self-bashing. There IS hope.

You have indicated in some of your threads that you are having difficulty with your textbook. You might want to consider getting a supplemental text. There are many "Dummies"-type books for algebra. Check your local book retailer or your local library.
