Hello all, hopefully I have this question in the right category. I have been doing a bunch of questions on sets which have been alright but the problem is I have a question here that I don't understand what is being asked, looking for some advice on how to get started on it.
The question gives me the following:
U = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11} A = {1,3,5,7,9,11} B = {1,2,3,4,6,8,10}
State whether x □ A or x □ (this one is larger square symbol) A, both or neither.
(i) x = {1,7} (ii) x = 5 and so on with the last one being (v) x = □ (larger square).
What is confusing me is I don't know what each of the squares signifies so I'm finding it hard to research what I should be doing here. Any advice much appreciated.
