well dis is the books question Describe how the of each of the following can be obtained from the graph of y=f(x)

e)y=-f(o.5(x-3))+1

my question is why is the horizontal an expanision by factor of 2 and also why dose the y-axin reflect?

f) y=3f(4-x)-7

my question is why is the reflection in y-axis

plzz and thank you

e)y=-f(o.5(x-3))+1
When you multiply by .5 it takes twice as much "x" to make the same change in y so it looks spread out. The minus makes any plus y a minus y so it reflects across the x axis.

f) y=3f(4-x)-7

The minus x makes it go negative as x gets larger so it reflects across the y axis. The 3 makes a change in x give three times the change in y so it looks three times as tall.
