problem
-3x+6(x-4)=9 I know x=5 but i figured it in my head and cant get it to work right step by step

Do you know the distributive property of multiplication? a(b+c) = ab+ac

-3x+6(x-4) = 9
-3x+6x+(-24) = 9
3x-24 = 9
3x = 33
x = 11

thank you so much--i actually had it but didnt think 11 worked when i checked it in place of x thank you thank you
