Help, How do you graph quadratic equations TI-84 plus

Are you trying to graph "y = x3 - 4x + 2", or trying to solve "x3 - 4x + 2 = 0"?

Eliz.

According to your subject line, you're trying to do the graph in the TI-84. Open your owner's manual to the chapter on "graphing", and follow the instructions: Press the "Y=" button, enter the formula for the graph, press the "GRAPH" button.

graphing

I have it open,

I have graphed it and chose the intersection then in the solution guide I am not getting the right answers. it says use zero or root and I dont understand that.

If you're using "intersection", then you must be trying to find the points where y = x3 - 4x + 2 crosses some other "y=" graph. Have you selected both of the graphs? Have you placed the cursor close to the intersection point of the two lines?

("Zero" or "root" would be what you would use if you were trying to find the x-intercepts of y = x3 - 4x + 2. The calculator may think that's what you want, if you haven't selected the other graph, too.)

Ah geezzzz Tina (and others): why don't you get your TI-84 problems
looked at by someone you know that has one; almost impossible
to help here...for me anyway...
