There is a fundamental theorem that says that an angle that has vertex on a given circle has angle measure half the measure of the arc it subtends. For example, the last problem has an angle that subtends an arc of 96 degrees so the angle itself is 96/2= 48 degrees. So 2x+ 1= 48.
