I am stuck at a step. Here is the problem: -1/9 (x -27) + 1/3 (x + 3) = x + 25

Here is the next step that I have done: - (x -27 ) + 3 (x + 3) = 9x + 225

Please help me. Thank you.

From your second line, I will guess that the first line means the following:

. . . . .(-1/9)(x - 27) + (1/3)(x + 3) = x + 25

Then you multiplied through by 9, giving:

. . . . .-1(x - 27) + 3(x + 3) = 9(x + 25)

You multiplied the 9 through the parentheses on the right-hand side. Now multiply the -1 and the 3 through the parentheses on the left-hand side. Simplify, and solve the resulting linear equation.

If you get stuck, please reply showing your steps. Thank you.
