√x = x² - 2* (x+3)

square both sides and continue....

i'm having a little trouble solving this equation:

X²=2*(x+3) +√x

Or, you could substitute
y = \(\displaystyle \sqrt{x}\)
to get
y⁴ - 2 y² - y - 6 = 0
Then solve for y and compute x (= y²). Both ways provide 4 roots, not all of which may be real valued.
