hello guys could you please help me with this question ive really got no idea on how to solve it ! or any one could recomend me any place to reserch it

  • Use free body diagram method to design diagram of the system of converging forces.
  • Use geometrical method to find reactions of the supports.
  • Use analytical method to find equilibrium condition of the rigid body

G= 50kN, AC=4m, , α=120o

thank you

dropping a perpendicular from B to AC coupled with the fact that [MATH]\alpha = 120^\circ[/MATH], yields two 30-60-90 triangles; therefore the length of rod 1 = length of rod 2 ... obviously, the diagram is not drawn to scale.

were the masses of the two rods given, and are they uniform?
any information regarding friction between the floor and rod ends?

Note there are three conditions for static equilibrium ...

[MATH]\sum F_x = 0[/MATH][MATH]\sum F_y = 0[/MATH][MATH]\sum \tau = 0[/MATH]

Hello thank you for the response

well unfortunatly the masses were not mentioned and i belive they are uniform ! and the factor of friction was also not meantioned in the question !

wel how do i contruct the free body diagram could you please explain it to me
