I tried doing 1300 x 0.118 x 2 / 24 and it just gave me a repeating number.

You calculated the interest amount, not the total amount, and then divided by 24.

The calculation should have been

[MATH]p = \dfrac{1300 \times (1+2\times 0.118)}{24} = 66.95[/MATH]

I tried doing 1300 x 0.118 x 2 / 24 and it just gave me a repeating number.
Why do you think that the answer can't be a repeating decimal?? It does turn out that the computation you posted is in fact a repeating decimal. The problem, as already pointed out by Romsek, is that you had the wrong formula but that does not change the fact that the result could have been a repeated decimal.
