how bout this one y1=4x+5
y2=x^3+2x^2-x-3
y3+-x^3-2x^2+5x+

A) write an equation that can be solved to find the points on intersection for y1 and y2

B) write an equation that can be solved to find the x-intercepts of the graph of y3

i tried graphing it on my calculator

A Hint: Intersection points are where the (x, y) values for the equations are equal. So what do you need to set equal, in order to find where y1 and y2 intersect?

B Hint: What is the value of y when you cross the x-axis?

What's not to "get"? You set the formulas for y1 and y2 equal to each other, and simplify. Where are you having difficulty?
