can you help solve this equation with Parentheses
0.3-0.4(4-x)=4.7

Multiply the -0.4 through the parentheses, and then proceed as usual.
Or, if you prefer, multiply everything by "10" to get rid of the decimal points:
. . . . .[10][0.3 - 0.4(4 - x)] = [10][4.7]
. . . . .[10][0.3] - [10][0.4(4 - x)] = 47
. . . . .3 - 4(4 - x) = 47
...and then solve by the usual methods.
