An equilateral triangle with a perimeter of 12 is inscribed in a circle. What is the area of the circle?

What information is needed to calculate the area of a circle?
Can you find this information in the triangle?

It will be very helpful if you can tell us your context. Have you been studying geometry proper, or trigonometry? What theorems do you know pertaining to the equilateral triangle? Have you learned about things like circumradius of a triangle, or the various centers of a triangle (which for an equilateral triangle are all at the same place)?

At the least, you might draw in the radii of the circle to the vertices of the triangle, and think about right triangles to which you could apply the Pythagorean theorem.
