What makes you think that someone in a math forum would have the best answer? What does this have to do with Algebra?

A filter is a sheet of something (cloth, metal, plastic, etc.) with tiny holes in it. Only something smaller than those holes can pass through it.

Cars may have "electronic" filters to cut out noise in the radio. But you are most probably correct.....
