How many square yards of carpet are needed to completely cover a rectangular floor that measures 15 feet by 9 feet?

I will find the area in feet and then take to yards
[math]A= l * w[/math][math]A=15 (ft) * 9(ft)[/math][math]A=135 ft^2[/math]Now converting to yards
There are 3 ft to 1 yard
So
[math]135 ÷ 3= 45 yd^2[/math]Is this correct?

No. Areas are in square feet and square yards, not feet or yards, so the conversion is different. One square yard is 3 feet by 3 feet, making it 9 square feet, not 3.
