How to calculate (1/60)⁻³? Could you please tell me the method?

Are you familiar with the properties of exponents? (Depending on the instructor, there are about seven properties.)

You need to know what to do with a negative exponent, for example.

Let us know, if you need help finding lessons and examples about properties of exponents.

Otherwise, please show what you can try. :cool:

I know that a⁻¹ = 1/a and (1/a)⁻¹ = a¹ but here the power is '-3' So how to proceed with exponent '-3'?

a-3 = 1/a3 and (1/a)-3 = a3

a3 = a ∙ a ∙ a

a-3 = 1/(a ∙ a ∙ a)

(1/a)3 = 1/a3 = 1/(a ∙ a ∙ a)

(1/a)-3 = (a/1)3 = a ∙ a ∙ a
