I have a fairly complicated question about lines, points and distances. Thanks

Given two lines l and l' and a point F not on either line, determine the point P on l such that the distance from P to l' minus its distance to F is as large as possible.

Interesting problem. Any context? What do you have so far? If nothing - start with some diagrams.

I had started working on it, with a few diagrams, but I didn't really get anywhere. Thanks for replying!
Please post them and let us know what you noticed in the behavior of the distance difference as P moves along l.
