I know this is kind of cunning but I really do not get the lesson... please help

Hi Denny. Which parts are you unsure about? Is it some vocabulary? A math symbol? If so, have you tried to look up information? If you're unable to understand what you're reading, please be specific.

In question #1, I'm not sure why they ask for the "dependent variable for f(x)". Symbol f(x) is the dependent variable. The rest of the question makes sense.

Please explain where you need help. Cheers

You are of course quite right. The question is not correctly worded.

They did say [imath]f(x) \in \mathbb Y.[/imath] I think they forgot to say [imath]y = f(x) \in \mathbb Y.[/imath] That makes the question trivial but at least plausible.
