The owner of a movie theater was counting the money from 1 day's ticket sales. H eknew that a total of 150 tickets were sold. adult tickets cost 7.50$ each and kids tickets cost 4.75$ each. If the total reciepts for the day were $891.25, how many of each kind of ticket were sold?

If someone can help me with this problem, I will be very thankful.

Gene, what you showed is the same as x and y method. Sadly I am not sure how to continue the problem. But if they had the same variable i could. I am not sure what to do when you have 2 different variables.

Working on other problems. Ya gotta be patient.
A+K=150
A=150-K
7.5(150-K)+4.75K=891.25

sorry thanx reply when you can but i am understanding it better, what formula should i usek? like k=.....

This isn't statistics, it is beginning algebra. Don't you know how to distribute 7.5 thru (150-K) to get
(1125-7.5K)+4.75K=891.25
Then gather like terms and solve for K.

help how do u do 4x+6=54 :?
Do not piggy-back on someone elses question. Post as a new topic.
Subtract 6 from both sides.
Divide both sides by 4.
