i need to write how to do the problem x/2=(square root)x-1 can anyone help me how to do it???

I'm sorry, but your post is ambiguous.

When you say you "need to write how to do" this exercise, do you mean that you need to show your work, or that you need to write up an explanation of the process, as though you were teaching another student?

What are you supposed to "do"? (No instructions were included within your post, that I could tell.)

What is the equation? You might mean:

. . . . .x/2 = sqrt(x) - 1

...or:

. . . . .x/2 = [sqrt(x)]-1

...or:

. . . . .x/2 = sqrt(x - 1)

...or something else.

Please reply with clarifications. Thank you.

Eliz.
