Hi, dear tutors, a little confused as to how to go at this one
A rectangular animal pen will be built using 200 meters of fencing. If one side is 60 meters, find the area of the pen.
so 200 meters will go around as fence, so that means t hat perimeter is 200?
any hint is appreciated.

I have one side listed a 60 m.
The other side is 60 m.
Now if the fence goes around for 200 meters then I have already have 120m of fence
the two sides of the rectangle will have to measure 40 + 40 =80
120 +80 =200 meters which is the perimeter.
then,
[math]A= L * W[/math][math]A=60m * 40 m[/math][math]A=2400 m^2[/math]the area of the pen is 2400 m^2
