Hello,

My friend is having trouble with a problem and asked me for help. I haven't done this kind of math in quite awhile and I'm not terribly sure where to even begin. The problem is as follows:

Use implicit differentiation to find the slope of the tangent line to the curve 3x2-1xy-4y3=260 at the point (-2,-4).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It has been a while. One for free.

3x2-1xy-4y3=260

6x - (xy' + y) - 12(y^2)y' = 0

That's a power rule, a product rule, and a chain rule. Lot's of good differential calculus in there.

Now what?
