Let R be the region between the x-axis and the graph of [math]y = 8/(x+1)[/math] for x > 0. Let S1 be the solid obtained by revolving R around the x-axis. Let S2 be the solid obtained by revolving R around the y-axis.
a. Compute the area of R using an improper integral
b. Compute the volume of S1 using an improper integral
c. Compute the volume of S2 using an improper integral

The answers that I got were a: diverges, b: [math]64pi[/math], and c: diverges. Are these answers correct?

You are new here, so I will suggest you need to show more work. It is much easier for helpers to see where you went wrong, if you did, if you show your work. Most helpers, including myself, won't work the problem out for ourselves just to see if we get your answer.

Ah - I will keep that in mind for the future, thank you.
