Nice little take home exam. Please don't try to cheat again.

it is honestly more of homework than an actual take home quiz, basically this has been boggling my mind and I am just trying to wrap my head around the dividing and multiplying by 2 part that is it

i would not ask for this if it was an actual exam I just need to figure something out, due to the hint he gave it seems to me like he wants me to turn the sqrt of three and the 1 before sin into sin pi/3 and cos pi/3

All was good until the last line. Why did the angle go from x+pi/3 to x+pi/4
