For the middle one with the 'appropriate substitution,' you mistakenly turned [imath]2x^4[/imath] into [imath]2x^2[/imath]

It should be:

[imath]\begin{aligned} u&=2x^4-4x+5\\ du&=\left(8x^3-4\right) dx\\ &=4\left(2x^3-1\right) dx \end{aligned}[/imath]
