I want to solve this:

y = 3x + 12 (mod 26) x,y ∈ Z

If x=6, y=? and find the inverse function

Do you know what 3(6)+ 12 is? Do you know what "mod 26" means?

If you were given the equation y= 3x+ 12 (without the "mod 26") and asked to solve for x, what would you do? Dividing by 3 (mod 26) is the same as multiplying by what?
