ok, so I hope I posted in the right subject, I need your help here. this is something my boyfriend and I have been debating since yesterday, and we don't seem to be coming to an agreement. We're trying to see which is the better deal for laundry detergent by seeing how much it costs to do a load of laundry

Detergent A costs $7.98 for 22 lbs (or 352 oz). On the tag, it also says it's 2.3 cents/oz. It says it can do 182 loads of laundry

Detergent B costs $5.98 for 7 lbs, 13 oz (or 125 oz). On the tag, it also says it's 4.8 cents/oz. It says it can do 120 loads of laundry

which one is the better deal? which one can I get the most loads for my money?

¢ / oz is the comparable cost of the detergent. This does't really address what it takes to do a load of laundry.

Compare ¢ / Load.

You should also consider the fact that, when you do a load of laundry, you measure the detergent, whereas your boyfriend simply opens the container and dumps some in.
