can someone help me with these? Isn't there a formula to go by that helps?

1. A basketball coach has 11 players. At anyone time, he can put 5 players on the court. How many teams of 5 players can he put on the court using all 11 players interchangeably?

2. The CEO of FOMOCOS has 12 members on his board of directors. He has to select a Chairperson, a Vice President, and a Secretary. How many different ways can these specific offices be filled from the 12 member board?

3. Consider the experiment of tossing two dice. List the sample space of this experiment, and the probabilty associated with each element of the sample space. Briefly explain the rules and procedures used to develop the given answer.

How many ways can the letters in the word "HOUSEHOLD" be arranged distinctively?

1) Eleven-choose-five?

2) Twelve-permute-three?

3) What are the different results you can get? (I'm not going to write your essay for you. Please reply showing what you've done and saying where you're stuck.)

4) Check your book; there should be an example (with lots of factorials in the denominator), possibly with the word MISSISSIPPI.
