Question
Calculate the power generated by a single cylinder 4-stroke engine.
Need help with my 2nd year engineering math's homework, Hints given on the assignment sheet area provided below, I know it involves line integrals and Green's theorem but I can't finish off the question. I've attempted it myself and I assume I'm on the right track but i'd appreciate all working being shown so I can compare.
Needs a graph of Compression Ratio (y-axis) vs Volume (x-axis), would appreciate your version of that as well.
HINT 1: Consider the pressure and volume changes that occur over two revolutions of the crankshaft.
Hint 2: Parameters that you will need to investigate: displacement, compression ratio, engine speed, combustion temperature.
Hint 3: (Formulas).
PV =nRT (1)
Force = Pressure × Area (2)
