Linear equations I need help on how to do

One question per post please.
Q3. Assuming you don't know where to start, rearrange the first equation to get in it the form x= ......
Then substitute that expression into the second equation and solve for y.
Show us your attempt at that.
 
OK, you suck at algebra. So why would you come here wanting us to do your homework for you?
It would be better if we help you solve these problems so you can learn something

For the record, that is what this forum is all about. We help students solve their own problems by giving them hints leading them to the answer.
