I know how to type in logs but I don't always get a correct answer. Can someone show me how to correctly type in logs? Give me an example please.

are you trying to evaluate logs on your calculator?
You can rewrite them easily for evaluation.

\(\displaystyle \log _4 16 = \frac{{\log 16}}{{\log 4}}\)

You will find that both expressions are equal to 2.

Many Computer Algebra Systems use log(x,b) for logb(x).
If you want to display logb(x) you must type some code.
Type “logb(x).
