Question: The price of the jacket is 6% it decreased by 4%
What is the new price.
My workings: I put4/6 and multiplied by 100 and I git 66.6%
If it is wrong, help out please.
Thanks

I can't say anything about whether your workings are correct or not, because the problem as written makes no sense whatsoever. You say "The price of the jacket is 6%" ... but 6 percent of what?

Let's suppose that the problem says, "The price of the jacket was $6, then it decreased by 4%. What is the new price?"

Then the amount of the decrease was 4% of $6. What is that amount?

What do you get when you decrease $6 by that amount?

There are other ways, but this is the most direct.
