I'm trying to analyse a data set and I'm hoping to find some help on this forum
The data set involves wage growth by country. I want to average this data to yearly wage growth but I am having an issue logically as it is currently reported monthly but on a month to the same month last year's basis.
For example, say the figure for January 2018 is 1.1%, this means wages have grown 1.1% between January 2018 and January 2017. If February 2018 is then 1.6%, wages have grown 1.6% between February 2018 and February 2017.
What I'm looking for is a wage growth yearly value.
I am thinking of just extracting December's values for each year and using that as a figure of year on year growth but I'd like to know if there is a better solution to get yearly wage growth for say 2017 taking the above into consideration? I have data for each month for every year.
