How do you do problems that look like this. 4n-2=5 and the 4n-2 is over 6

One way is to multiply both sides by 6. Then you have a simple two-step equation.

Forget you ever heard of "multi-step" or "two-step". Obviously, these terms discourage you.

EVERYTHING is a SINGLE-STEP process. EVERYTHING!

How do you solve this? x/6 = 5

How do you solve this? y-2 = 30

How do you solve this? 4z = 28

Think about these three equations. Think about your original equation. Tell me if you should care if it takes more than one step.
