I am just going to post a picture because the way my teacher wrote this problem is confusing me and I'm not even sure if I can explain it in words. I haven't tried anything yet because I couldn't even begin to figure out what to do. For some reason he did not go over this type of problem at all before springing the HW on us. All help is much appreciated.
