I'm kinda bad at math and i need help with the following problem.

f(x)=x/(x-5) g(x)=3/x

find.. a) f o g b) f o f c) (f o g)(-2)

I haven't really been paying attention in class and just don't know how to even begin.
Thanks for any help!

I'll do another (similar) problem - this time pay attention:

f(x)=x/(x-a) g(x) = x[sup:2cjedwqt]2[/sup:2cjedwqt]

find.. a) f o g b) f o f c) (f o g)(-b)

\(\displaystyle f \, o \, g \, = \, f[g(x)] \, = \, \frac{g(x)}{g(x) - a} \, = \, \frac{x^2}{x^2 - a}\)

\(\displaystyle f o f \, = \, f[f(x)] \, = \, \frac {f(x)}{f(x) - a} \, = \, \frac {\frac{x}{x-a} }{\frac{x}{x-a} \, - \, a}\)

\(\displaystyle (f \, o \, g)(-b) \, = \, \frac{b^2}{b^2 - a}\)

Please show your work, indicating exactly where you are stuck - so that we know where to begin to help you.

Maybe paying attention to the explanations might help you be a little better at math...?

Since you first need to learn the material, please study at least two online lessons on composition of functions. Once you've learned the basic terms and techniques, please attempt the exercise. If you get stuck, you will then be able to reply with a clear listing of your work and reasoning so far.

Thank you! :D
