need help with inverses

i need to find the inverse of reciprocating and the inverse of negating. i have tried and it just doesn't make sense to me. my prof seems like a nut so the answer is probably really obvious or doesn't exist. thanks

The inverse function means "flip it over".
. . How do we un-do that? . . . Flip it again!

The negation function means "change the sign".
. . How do we un-do that? . . . Change the sign again!

so would the inverse of reciprocating be reciprocating and the inverse of negating be negating? makes sense... i think
