Need help with proving convex sets

Hi, for my calculus class i am having trouble proving convex sets, can anyone help me out?


The question is:

Prove that the sum and difference of two convex sets in R^n are convex.

What are the properties of convex sets?

and

How do you perform addition operation on sets?
 
The lamda have to be positive and the sum of the convex sets have to equal the convex sets.
