Do you realize that:
2 1/2 : 3 1/2 = (5/2) ÷ (7/2) = ?

similarly
n:2 = n ÷ 2

Can you solve for 'n' now?

Saying that "2 1/2: 3 1/2=n:2 " means that \(\displaystyle \frac{2\frac{1}{2}}{3\frac{1}{2}}= \frac{n}{2}\).

I would simplify the left side by multiplying both numerator and denominator by 2:
\(\displaystyle \frac{5}{7}= \frac{n}{2}\).

Now, you can "solve for n" by multiply both sides by 2.
